Tinson Opticians was founded by John Tinson in 1984, starting as a small independent practice on Mill Street. The business quickly established a reputation for quality eyecare and personal service, and within a few years had outgrown its original premises.

Around 30 years ago, we relocated to our current home at 9 Middle Row — right in the heart of Maidstone — where we've remained ever since.

Over four decades, we've grown to become one of Maidstone's leading independent opticians and contact lens specialists. While the technology and eyewear has evolved, our commitment to personal, professional service hasn't changed.

Today, we're proud to care for a loyal customer base spanning four generations — from children as young as three to patients over 100 years old. Many of our customers have been with us since the very beginning, and we now look after their children and grandchildren too.

That trust, built over 40 years, is something we never take for granted.
